The JAYBOTS (a local high school robotics team) used money from a fundraiser to purchase a chocolate 3D printer. They used their expertise in CAD and 3D printing to teach home economics students how to design and print their creations. The team collaborated with a local postsecondary educator who uses chocolate printers in culinary settings to learn best practices and gain insight into how they could be used.  They would like to share their experiences with you, including how you could get started yourself.

Explore how algorithms can learn with this hands-on "unplugged" activity.  Without using any computing devices, we can experiment with a learning A.I. to not just use A.I. but understand how it works.  This activity was developed for MS/HS math, science, and CS students & community outreach.

 In this session, Jaqueline Johnson will share insights on using mobile app development and the six-step design thinking process to teach computer science. Participants will learn to build their own app and understand how these skills prepare students for future careers.
